A Cake Smash session is a fun & messy way to celebrate the milestone of your little one’s first birthday.

My Working Process

Booking

Looking to book a session? You can fill in the contact form here or email me directly at sharonorourke@live.com. Once I receive your enquiry we will set a date for your session. If it is a newborn session, I will take your due date and we will set a date once baby arrives.

Pre-session

Once your session is booked you will receive a contract via email to sign. You will also receive a link to the pre-session form. Here you can fill-out what types of shots you would like to capture, colour themes etc.

Session day

On the day of your session, I ask that you try to arrive on time, however, I realise that it is not always straight forward leaving the house with a new baby, so please message me if delayed. You will pay your package fee at the end of your session and we will set a date for your viewing appointment.

Session editing

Now that I have captured your shots, it's time for the most time consuming part of the process, the editing. My editing timeline is approximately 3 weeks.

Choose your images

Today you will call to my studio or alternatively, with an additional fee, I will travel to you. This appointment will be pre-arranged on your session day. Here you will view and choose your favourite images. You may add additional prints or order custom framed prints, wood block prints, canvases etc. Additional products must be paid for at this appointment.

Final product

Once your chosen prints are ready, I will post them out to you or arrange collection. I can deliver them myself, where possible. Prints take on average 3 weeks to process.

FAQ

What should my baby wear?

Some babies wear their Birthday outfit, although I wouldn't suggest this if it something that you want to preserve. We can take a photo in that outfit and then change them. I suggest a simple romper for girls and a romper or shorts for boys.

Do you supply the cake?

No. Please bring your own cake. I suggest a 6" soft sponge with plenty creamy icing. Tell your cake maker what it is for and they will make it so it falls apart easy. Please don't spend a fortune on it as it won't be eaten.

Can other family member take part?

The Cake Smash session is for baby only. However, you can add on a family session before the cake smash if you so wish.

Do I have to bring the balloons or flowers?

No I provide set props. You can choose your colour scheme in advance on booking.

Can I choose any theme for the Gold package?

You can choose from a number of themes, please contact me to discuss your options.
